Holiday Giving at Sanctuary

We are blessed by so many generous people in this community and within our Sanctuary family of supporters! In response to the many inquiries about how to help for the holidays, we’ve prepared a list of items for Christmas Day giving for our single men and women. Also included below is information on our Adopt-a-Family holiday giving program. You’ll also find details about donation drop-off days and times.

Thank you in advance for helping our shelter guests have a happy and memorable holiday season!

The Adopt-A-Family Program connects sponsors with families to “adopt” and provides a family profile with a suggested list of gifts. Sponsors buy presents for their family and deliver them wrapped and labeled to the shelter by Sunday, December 21. There are approximately 17 families staying with us at this time and we currently have 9 individuals or groups signed up as sponsors. If you’re interested in being a sponsor, please email. Information will be sent out to sponsors with more details on Monday, December 15.

If you’d like to make a financial donation that’s earmarked for the Adopt-A-Family project that will allow us to purchase items that are not donated, please email or call the development office at 343-4160.

Donations can be delivered to the shelter at 1620 W. River Street, weekdays between 11am and 1 pm and every evening between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

For daytime donations, the entry door is on the River Street side of the building next to the Connector exit ramp. As you enter Cooper Court from 16th (the first right past the Bridge/Skateboard Park, next to A20 Fitness and before the 16th/River St. Light), bear to your right by the Connector wall and proceed around the building. When you park and face the building, the entry door is on the far left. You can ring the bell and a staff member will greet you.

For evening donations, as you enter Cooper Court, you’ll notice a large gated parking lot area. This is where you’ll enter. Please ask for the Shift Manager when you arrive.

All items with the exception of those for families should be unwrapped.

Donations should be delivered to the shelter by Sunday, December 21.
