Job Announcement: Development Director

The Development Director is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing the organization’s development activities by performing the following duties personally or with the assistance of other staff, board members, and community volunteers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to develop, coordinate, and implement the annual fundraising plan.
  • Engage in research and develop strategies to identify and secure new individual, foundation, and government funding sources.
  • Write grant proposals and reports to foundation and government funders.
  • Work with Development Associate to maintain electronic grant application calendar for all grant requests and report deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Executive Director and program staff to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and effect changes as required.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of grant billings and reports.
  • Prepare drafts of fundraising letters and work collaboratively with the Development Associate on mailings.
  • Work with the Development team to plan and implement fundraising and donor appreciation events.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with donors. Cultivate donor relationships by producing correspondences and grant announcement press releases, and scheduling and attending in-person visits.
  • Work with the Development team to produce the annual report.
  • Act as staff liaison on the Development Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Executive Director.

Specific Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of development experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to promote a professional image of the organization to the public. Highly effective in developing personal relationships.
  • Proven track record in writing successful grant applications and in grant administration.
  • Ability to treat individuals calling the office, office visitors, volunteers, donors, board members, and staff with equal respect and dignity.
  • Understanding and commitment to the mission and foundational values of Interfaith Sanctuary (refer to http://interfaithsanctuary.org/mission/).
  • Excellent computer skills including a high level of proficiency in Word, Excel, spreadsheets, and data management.
  • Familiarity and comfort with the world of internet communication including email, social media, and cloud computing.
  • Well-developed writing and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment with staff, board members, and community volunteers.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills.

Compensation: $19 per hour. This is a 30 hour per week position with some scheduling flexibility. Benefits include an employee medical reimbursement plan and paid leave.

Job Announcement: Facility Maintenance Manager

Interfaith Sanctuary Homeless Shelter is accepting job applications for a full-time Facility Maintenance Manager for Monday – Friday days-7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Some daytime hours are required for staff meetings and there is opportunity for additional hours throughout the year.

Requirements:

  • Experience in janitorial services.
  • Knowledge of basic handyman level electrical and plumbing skills (non-professional skills required).
  • Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Basic computer and emailing skills including general proficiency with Word and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively manage community & guest volunteers.
  • Understands and is able to abide by the values of Interfaith Sanctuary (refer to http://interfaithsanctuary.org/mission/)
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting twin and full mattresses and other light lifting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Facility Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Cleaning the building and managing morning cleaning volunteers, 5 mornings per week.
  • Conducting cleaning projects related to pest management plan.
  • Helping to plan and facilitate work projects.
  • Conducting cleaning supplies inventory.
  • Overseeing building maintenance projects and acting as a liaison with service contractors as directed by supervisors.
  • Adhering to Sanctuary’s policies and procedures.
  • Treating all shelter guests, community volunteers, and staff members with respect and dignity.
  • Attending all staff meetings and required trainings.
  • Communicating as needed throughout the shift to management staff and the end of the shift through emailed shift reports.
  • Other duties as assigned by Operations Director or Executive Director. 

Compensation:  $11 per hour. This is a full-time (approx. 30 hours per week) hourly position. Additional hours are often available throughout the year. Benefits include an employee medical reimbursement plan and paid leave.
