Courage rarely looks like the movies.
Flashy lights, everything works out, “end scene!”.
It often feels a lot like walking with a limp,
like you’ve wrestled hard and in the process dislodged a hip.
It’s quiet, uncomfortable, and often happens in the face of fear.
It’s another step forward, though the rest of the path is unclear.
It’s His perfect strength moving us even when we feel weak and low.
For the Lord is with us wherever we go.
Most acts of courage won’t make the cut for the movie screen,
it’s just a quiet resolve to keep saying ‘yes!’ to the next right thing.
