Radical forgiveness,
that’s one way the world will witness
the love of Jesus.
To us, He’s shown His mercy –
excessive, abundant, and 100% free.
But this we confess,
too often when we’re wronged, white knuckled, we cling to bitterness.
Rather than giving away what we so freely received,
mercy and grace in our time of need.
Forgive me, Father, for I know not what I do.
Forgive me, Father, and make me more like You.
To forgive is to absorb the pain done to you.
An unpopular and uncomfortable path if it’s the one you choose.
Count the cost,
for the call is to live a life in the shadow of the cross.
The much I’ve been forgiven far surpasses any wrong done to me.
So, Holy Spirit, help me to just as freely give grace and mercy in their time of need.
