Thank you Blankets of Hope and Hillsdale Elementary school for donating about 100 blankets to Interfaith Sanctuary last spring. For every 5 dollars donated by the school, blankets of hope donated a plush blanket to the shelter. Attached to many of the blankets were a letter of hope written by a kind young student of Ms. Heathcock’s fifth grade class. Each letter gave us a message of hope and inspiration.
We have included some of these inspirational letters in this issue of our newspaper. In this issue we hope to give thanks and appreciation to those that helped us in the last year. We have chosen to keep all the letters and print them in our newspaper to spread your kind hearted words to more people. We did not know if these precious words would be lost or we never know whose hearts can be touched by their value. We kept going back to them in the past, but now we feel that it is time to print them for everyone to see.
We thank all the members of the class. We value and appreciate everyone of you. We are grateful that you are thinking of us and we appreciate your generosity and kind heart. We need more kindness in the world. You have shown us that there is hope for the future. We have been touched by your messages for you have shown us that you are wise beyond your years. Thank you so much, you have inspired us and have touched our hearts.
Letters from Hillsdale Elementary students:
Everyone has inside them a piece of good news. The good news is you don’t know how great you can be. How much you can love, what you can accomplish, and what your potential is. But always remember you are loved and never forgotten.
When you are in a dark place you think you have been buried, but you actually have been planted. You are not alone, everyone has this happen in life, just know you might be tired but continue and it will pay off. I know the pain of being homeless because growing up my mom was homeless, but she pushed for a while and ended up in a happy place. Keep pushing and you will end up in a happy place. My name is Katelynn from Hillsdale and be grateful for what you have and not what you want.

I am a 5th grader at Hillsdale elementary. Always remember that every kind deed you do is remembered. Another thing you should never forget, is that you will not live in darkness all your life, and that it is not your fault that you don’t have a home.

At Hillsdale we decided to help give these blankets to help make your story heard. I am a student at Hillsdale elementary school. Were trying to send blankets to you. Your not alone, open the door of possibilities and fly through it. I know someone like you is strong. I hope you get farther. Your not invisible, and I don’t get why we look at you guys. We’re the same.
Hi, I am a fifth grader at Hillsdale elementary. I just want to let you know, you are not alone. We are all working together. Get out of the dark, and show who you really are. Never let anyone defeat you, because I know that you are strong, kind, and beautiful. We are in this together. Don’t stop believing.
There is something in you that the world needs. I am a student from Hillsdale elementary. I would like you to shine bright like a million spotlights or a million diamonds in the sky. If you feel like you are buried, don’t be sad. You are there to sprout and become beautiful. You and your family can fight through this. Just try until you win.

I’m a student from Hillsdale elementary school in 5th grade. Your not going to master the rest of your life in one day. Just relax. Master the day. Then just keep doing that every day. Your going to be okay. It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.
Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome. You are important and not forgotten. We all believe in you.
Remember, there is something in you that the world needs. Remember this when you are feeling down. I hope you find a home. Just believe in yourself.
You are special, and you should always know that you can do anything. You just have to believe, trust yourself, and enjoy yourself. Then anything can happen. Do anything you want.
You’re stronger than you know, smarter than you think, and more loved than you could ever dream. Master the day while you still can.
It doesn’t matter how you go, as long as you don’t stop. Just remember the world needs you. I am a 5th grader at Hillsdale elementary, and I hope you get back on your feet. Don’t stop believing. I love that quote because it means you never give up.
