At Word on the Street, we encourage writers and artists to lift each other up and write from the heart. In one of our weekly editorial meetings, the Word on the Street team drew names on slips of paper from a bowl and wrote a description of the person they drew. Here is what our team said about each other:
“Gypsy is a sorcerer, a magician, a wise and deep thinker with very strong beliefs about many things. Gypsy brings color, light and darkness to our world and we are wiser, kinder and more cautious because of his influence in our world.” – Jodi
“Jodi is a bright light who lifts people’s spirits when she walks in the room. She’s an empathetic friend to all. When life tries to knock her down, she courageously stands for what she believes is right. Her heart for serving others brings life to Interfaith Sanctuary and encourages others to not give up hope.” – Molly
“Molly is a calm and peaceful presence in any situation. She is gentle and kind to everyone she meets. Has a humble confidence and adapts to any situation. She is an easy person to be around and get along with.” – Nicki
“Nicki is beautiful inside and out and the best part is that she doesn’t know it. She’s raising children that are also altruistic – which is so important in this volatile, politically driven climate. She’s perpetually optimistic, which I envy. She’s a valid human being validated by her work with the community. She walks that walks – and that is so rare. She’s patient and loving — guiding and shaping all generations with a gentle hand.” – Gerri

Nate is thoughtful and deliberate. He’s an intelligent person who always impresses me with his research-based writing. He has a mellow demeanor but has been growing into his voice in WOTS. Nate’s words are impactful! – Molly
“Eric has a calming presence when he enters the room. When he happens to not be present at WOTS he’s dearly missed. He’s quiet and calculated, so you know that he’s also thinking about something. He’s a deep thinker who shares the deepest parts of his heart through rich poetry.” -Molly
