It was a magical weekend for members of the Homeless Art Collective! Artfort, the fine art section of the Treefort Music Fest, featured a number of local artists, including from Interfaith Sanctuary.
Geoffrey McCauley and Chris Alvarez, two of our artists in residence, showcased their work at LED in Boise. These artists are wonderfully talented and prepared to debut their paintings and drawings for months.
On Saturday, Chris did a live art show, where he drew journalist Hunter S. Thompson on a sheet of plywood on the street outside the gallery. Our staff took a break to show their support and watch the creativity unfold!
Interfaith’s short documentary “Art on the Street” premiered for the first time on Saturday night. The film shares the story of how the Homeless Art Collective began and what it means to our artists who may not have homes but are overflowing with creative talents. Staff created the film with the support of a grant from the Boise City Department of Arts and History. It is available to watch on our Youtube page.
