What is Adopt a Meal

Adopt A Meal is a community outreach program to help our shelter provide nutritious meals to our guests on Saturday and Sunday nights.  Because we do not have a kitchen, Life’s Kitchen provides our guests a hot and nutritious meal Monday through Friday but they are closed on the weekend so  on Saturdays and Sundays we look to our community to help us with meals.

Adopt A Meal brings new friends and delicious meals to our guests on  Saturdays and Sundays  through out the year.

How many servings do we need to provide?

To feed all the guests staying at our shelter you should plan on making a meal that has 200 servings.

What time do we bring food for dinner service?

The food should be set up and ready to serve by 6pm.  You can either help serve the meal to our guests or we can arrange to have additional volunteers come help out with the service portion.

Do we bring beverages?

You can and we welcome it. Our guests really love hot coffee, hot and cold tea, juices and milk.

Do we provide paper goods, cups and plastic ware?

The answer is yes if you are able to. This helps us keep our costs down and with limited storage space  it is difficult to back stock  these items.  If you are not able to provide these items you just need to let us know and we will make arrangements to have this taken care of.

How do we sign up?

Send a email to Morgan Smith, our Volunteer Coordinator at morgans@interfaithsanctuary.org. Here is the information you need to include in your email:
