And So It Begins! Interfaith Sanctuary Embarks on Construction of Reimagined Shelter

On April 10th  Interfaith Sanctuary construction started on its reimagined shelter, located at 4306 W. State St. This marks a  significant milestone as Guho Construction put up the fencing and initiated the demolition process on the old Salvation Army Building.

“We are incredibly excited to see this project come to life,” said Jodi Peterson-Stigers Executive Director of Interfaith Sanctuary. “This reimagined shelter will not only provide vital services to those experiencing homelessness but also serve as a beacon of hope and compassion in our community.”

The journey to this point has been made possible by the support and collaboration of numerous partners and donors who have generously contributed their time, resources, and expertise. Their unwavering commitment to the mission of Interfaith Sanctuary has been instrumental in turning this vision into reality.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have leaned in to help make this project a reality,” added Peterson-Stigers. “Together, we are creating a space where individuals facing homelessness can find safety, support, and opportunities for a brighter future.”

Interfaith Sanctuary remains dedicated to its mission of providing shelter, support, and resources to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, regardless of their background or beliefs. The reimagined shelter will enhance these efforts, offering expanded services and facilities to better meet the diverse needs of the community.

As construction progresses, Interfaith Sanctuary will continue to provide updates and opportunities for community involvement. To learn more about the project and how to support Interfaith Sanctuary’s mission, please visit www.interfaithsanctuary.org  or contact jodi@interfaithsanctuary.org.
