Why Give?

Donating to Interfaith Sanctuary means: Saving Lives and Building Better Futures

Interfaith Sanctuary is dependent on donations from individual donors in our community, like you, who believe that everyone has the right to safe and secure shelter. As a donor to Interfaith Sanctuary, you will join us in saving lives and building better futures for men, women, and families with children in our community who are experiencing homelessness.

Your donations provide emergency shelter, meals, and critical supportive services for up to 164 people each and every night of the year.  During most of 2015 the shelter was at or near capacity.  In 2015, Interfaith Sanctuary provided 65,404 bed nights and meals and served 766 individuals; 721 adults and 45 children.

We provide our services for under $10.00 per night, making us one of the most cost-effective shelters in our area, so you know your money is directly helping those who need it most.

When you donate to Sanctuary, you join hundreds of other individual donors, businesses, organizations, faith communities and foundations in our community who believe in the importance of our mission: to shelter and serve individuals experiencing homelessness. With your help, we provide comprehensive support to our shelter guests; in addition to responding to individuals and families needing emergency shelter, with our Supportive Services program we help direct people on a new path that moves them beyond shelter living toward a healthier and more self-sufficient life.

Over 70% of our funding comes directly from individual donors. Local foundations, businesses, and churches contribute another 20%. Less than 10% of our funding comes from federal grants. We are truly a local effort and we can’t do what we do without your help.

Thank you for helping to make our community a caring and better place for all!
