Reframing Security: Creating Safety for People Experiencing Homelessness

Peter Ashwin and Brice Sloan are experts in the security field. Their companies, Event Risk Management Solutions and Sloan Security, have brought services to clients around the world, but it wasn’t until an encounter at a book shop in Boise years ago that they began partnering on a security plan for Interfaith Sanctuary.

Why We Need Shelter

BSU nursing students develop public health strategies in partnership with Interfaith Sanctuary

During their time here, the students created a book for staff with research they completed describing some of the most effective tools and strategies to prevent the spread of the virus. They also helped us combat misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots in order to get as many people vaccinated as possible.

Idaho Ed News partners with Word on the Street for series on student homelessness

The November edition of Word on the Street has arrived!

Our 16th issue is a special one. This month, Interfaith Sanctuary partnered with Idaho Ed News to publish two stories about youth homelessness in Canyon County. These stories describe the challenges homeless students and their families face while trying to navigate an education without a place to live, in an area of the country where access to affordable housing is severely limited.
